This 4-week GROW series focuses on Ephesians 6, which lays out the plan and tools we need to “stand firm against the devil’s schemes.” From today’s pulpits, we are getting a regular dose of Jesus, and His love, mercy and grace. We understand that God has seated Christ “at His right hand in the heavenly realms.”  But that is only half the picture when it comes to our knowledge and awareness of “rulers and authorities” in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 2 refers to Satan as “the ruler of the kingdom of the air.” The picture 1 Peter 5:8 gives of Satan like a roaring lion, who “prowls around looking for someone to swallow up,” is a real and present danger in our daily lives. At an age-appropriate level, kids should have a clear understanding and awareness that Satan is the ruler of this world, a hater of God, and an enemy after our souls. They will learn the six pieces of the spiritual armor to battle for God against the enemy, and why they must be armed and ready at all times.
